Millan appointed head of Philippine Navy

MANILA - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced the appointment of Rear Admiral Jesus C. Millan as the Philippine Navy's Flag Officer in Command.

He replaces Vice Admiral Jose Luis M. Alano, who is set to retire on May 1 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Millan is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class of 1982.

A recipient of various military awards, Millan is currently the commander of the Naval Forces Western Command.

He was also was former chief of the Naval Staff and commander of the Naval Reserve Command.

Another “mistah” of batch 1982, Major General Jeffrey Delgado, was earlier named Air Force chief.

Delgado was a member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) of former President Corazon Aquino.

He took over last Friday from retired Lt. Gen. Lauro Catalino dela Cruz.
