MANILA –Senator Teofisto ''TG'' Guingona III on Thursday said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee will have to wait for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima before deciding on re-opening the hearing on the pork barrel scam.

The committee, chaired by Guingona, already submitted its recommendation regarding the multibillion-peso scam, which saw billions of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) allegedly plundered by Napoles, lawmakers and bureaucrats.

However, calls to reopen the PDAF probe have been made in light of recent developments in the case, such as the return to the Philippines of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile's former chief of staff, Gigi Reyes, who allegedly received pork barrel kickbacks for the senator, and the decision of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles to reveal everything she knows.

Guingona said the committee ''has opted to take the prudent course'' by waiting for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to finish documenting Napoles' sworn statement.

''We will wait for Secretary De Lima to finish documenting the supposed disclosure of Janet Lim-Napoles. Upon receipt of the affidavit of Janet Lim - Napoles by the Blue Ribbon Committee, the same will be evaluated before we make the final decision,'' Guingona said.
