Napoles shared 'pork scam' list with Lacson - lawyer
MANILA - Businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles’ camp admitted they approached former Senator and now rehabilitation czar Panfilo “Ping” Lacson for help in her decision to bare all she knows about the scam.
Lacson was given the list of names of people involved in the scam, but what he has is allegedly an incomplete list, lawyer Bruce Rivera said.
The former senator is not on the list since he refused his pork barrel when he was still a senator.
Rivera advised senators not to panic.
Although he admits the list is quite long, those who did not deal with Napoles need not worry.
Rivera said Lacson was approached by the family since Napoles' husband, Jaime, is an ex-military man.
He said Lacson, however, failed to act on their request so they went to de Lima.
He clarified that the supposed list being circulated did not come from them.
He urged Lacson to exercise prudence and not release information that was given to him.
Rivera also reiterated Napoles did not ask to become state witness.
He said, if the Department of Justice and the Office of the Ombudsman find merit in the evidence and information she gave and decide to make her state witness, then she would be happy.
If not, then she will fight it out in court, he said.
