PNoy talks to Chinese envoy

WOMAN OF THE HOUR. Despite the tense standoff between the Philippines and China at the Scarborough shoal, President Aquino and Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Ma Keqing are all-smiles as they chat at the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue among labor ministers of different countries.

MANILA, Philippines - Despite the current standoff between the Philippines and China over the Scarborough shoal, President Aquino conveyed to Chinese ambassador Ma Keqing his appreciation that both sides continue to be in touch with each other to seek a peaceful resolution to the matter.
 
Aquino and Ma briefly chatted at the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue among labor ministers of different countries held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. They were all-smiles as they talked.
 
Ma represented China during the labor ministerial dialogue.
 
"He told her that it was encouraging that both sides continue to talk," Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary Ricky Carandang told ABS-CBN News.
 
Vice President Binay also engaged Ma in a brief conversation after the President did.
