MANILA - The Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled the oral arguments on the petition of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. against the Office of the Ombudsman that seeks to stop the proceedings against him for plunder in connection with the "pork barrel" scam.
This was announced by the high court's Public Information Office, but no reason was given for the cancellation of the April 22 scheduled oral arguments.
The Suprme Court also ordered the Ombudsman and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to file memorandum on Revilla's plea for a temporary restraining order.
The oral arguments were announced prior to the release of the Ombudsman's resolution on the NBI's complaint against Revilla.
The Ombudsman found probable cause to indict Revilla and several others before the Sandiganbayan for alleged kickbacks from the scam amounting to P242 million.
