MANILA – Former president and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo welcomed guests who came to wish her well on her 67th birthday at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) on Saturday.
Arroyo was seen sporting a blue blouse and white skirt while wearing her neck brace.
Tables and chairs were set up for the guests outside the former president's Presidential Suite in the VMMC.
Among those who visited Arroyo were her son, former congressman Juan Miguel "Mikey" Macapagal Arroyo and former agriculture secretary and current Bohol Congressman, Arthur Yap.
On Friday, former finance secretary Margarito Teves and Isabela Congressman Rodito Albano also dropped by to greet her.
Arroyo’s lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio said that the former president is expecting around 50 guests on her birthday celebration which will include family members, colleagues in the congress, former cabinet secretaries and former schoolmates.
Topacio gave Arroyo crocodile lechon as present while former first gentleman Jose Miguel "Mike" Arroyo brought her a dozen roses. --with reports from Robert Mano and DZMM
