MANILA - The Sandiganbayan on Wednesday granted the request of former President and now incumbent Pampanga congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to allow her family to spend time with her on her birthday at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City.
Arroyo earlier asked the Sandiganbayan to allow members of her immediate family to stay at the VMMC from April 4 to 6. The former President will turn 67 on April 5.
Arroyo is on hospital arrest for her alleged role in the plunder of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) intelligence funds.
The Sandiganbayan earlier dismissed her appeal to post bail.
