MANILA, Philippines - Justice Secretary Leila de Lima will submit a shortlist of five names to Pres. Aquino for the post of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director after the Holy Week break.
De Lima said NBI officer-in-charge Nonnatus Caesar Rojas is part of the list, the rest are outsiders or not from the bureau.
Regional Prosecutor Rojas was appointed OIC in January following the sacking of Magtanggol Gatdula who was found to have been involved in the kidnapping and extortion of a Japanese national.
Following the controversy, De Lima called for a revamp of key NBI positions and ordered a thorough review on the policy of hiring of confidential agents(CA) and security volunteers(SV).
