MANILA - Thirteen people died and 42 were injured in incidents reported during the Holy Week, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Sunday.
In an update released by NDRRMC, 13 were declared dead after separate drowning incidents in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Northern Mindanao and Cordillera regions.
Among the casualties were Jimson and Lazaro Boa, John Joseph Mendoza and Herminigildo De Castro from Calaca, Batangas. They drowned while trying to save Lorenz Boa who also died in the incident.

Kecy Joyce Campol, 13 (Lamut, Ifugao)
Lebino Sama Espara, Jr., 32 (Bokod, Benguet)
Sherwin Paraiso, 20 (Lopez, Quezon)
Christian Asitre, 19 (Sariaya, Quezon)
Arlene Nepomuceno, 12 (Sariaya, Quezon)
Gilbert Del Rosario, 46 (San Juan Batangas)
Pearl Yvana Baldea, 7 (Taal, Batangas)
Meanwhile, 42 were injured in a fire, a drowning incident, and a string of vehicular accidents during the Holy Week -- 18 in Cordillera, 16 in Northern Mindanao, five in Calabarzon and three in Central Luzon. -- With a report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
