MANILA - What did President Aquino do during the Holy Week break?
In a text message, Communications Secretary said the President attended two wakes and watched an old movie about the archbishop of El Salvador.
"On how the President is observing the Lenten holidays, this is the President's statement: 'I went to two wakes and will go to a birthday tomorrow. Stayed in Manila to monitor everything. I am also monitoring developments in Libya. I spent quality time with my family. Last night I watched an old film on the life of Archbishop Romero of El Salvador. It reminded me of the church and its pro-active preference for the poor,'" Coloma said.
The communications secretary said concerned officials are keeping the President informed of the situation nationwide.
Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya earlier said movement of people during the Holy Week break "has been uneventful despite the volume."
"There were some build ups in the toll plazas on both NLEX and SLEX. No untoward incidents in the aviation and maritime sectors. We wish travelers a safe trip back to their destinations," Abaya said.
