MANILA - Senator Alan Peter Cayetano is proposing that the Senate allow the witnesses in the pork barrel scam to return and confront the lawyers of senators implicated in the controversy.

Cayetano said this is one way to find out who is telling the truth.

If not, Cayetano said, the Senate should now shift the focus of its probe to the involvement of other non-government organizations (NGOs) in the scam.

"Kung wala nang bago or kung hindi rin papayag ang mga senador na magharap-harap, then it's time to move on. But I still suggest na kung hindi man 'yung mga senador na involved, ang mga abogado nila ay harapin sina Miss Ruby Tuason at si Mr. Cunanan. Bakit? Iba pa rin 'yung nagpe-press con 'yung isa, nagpe-presscon 'yung kabila e. He said, she said, she said, he said 'di ba? Iba 'yung magkakaharap kasi makikita mo talaga kung sino nagsasabi ng totoo at hindi," Cayetano told reporters at the sidelines of the Chamber of Thrift Banks 2014 National Convention.

Cayetano is also calling on the Senate to start its probe on the alleged plunder of P900 million in Malampaya funds.

"Why not expose this to the public para gumulong na rin ang gulong ng hustisya? Ang point ko lang dapat ubusin na natin itong lahat ng scam para makita ng tao na wala tayong sasantuhin dito, administrasyon man o oposisyon," he said.

NABCOR scam probe

Meanwhile, Senator Bam Aquino said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee should also look into the scam involving the funds of the National Agri-business Corporation (NABCOR).

He also urged the committee to include other implicated NGOs in the pork barrel scam in its probe.

"As we know, tuloy-tuloy ang paglabas ng bagong information so I'm hoping na pati 'tong mga bagong information, specifically sa NABCOR mapag-usapan din sa blue ribbon hearing at magawan ng tamang kaso," Aquino told reporters at the sidelines of the Chamber of Thrift Banks 2014 National Convention.

He also urged Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the pork barrel scam, to tell all.

"I think she should follow the suggestion of Senator [Miriam Defensor] Santiago which is kumanta ka na. Sabihin mo na ang katotohanan. Habang hindi siya nagsasabi, her life is at risk. Once mailabas na niya 'yan...palagay ko ay mas mapapadali ang kaso baka rin mas magiging safe ang kanyang buhay," Aquino said.
