MANILA - President Aquino renewed calls for unity amid fresh criticisms about his management skills.

Aquino reminded the public that positive change can only be achieved with people working together instead of upstaging each other.

Aquino also stressed the need for leaders to consider what their constituents need.

In the past few weeks, Aquino's management skills were assailed by ally Senator Serge Osmena, who has described him and Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla as awful managers.

Dying industry?

Organized by various organizations of Filipino musicians, the summit seeks to examine if Original Pilipino Music (OPM) is indeed a dying industry.

Aquino pointed out that the industries that survive and thrive are the ones which respond to the needs of their market.

He highlighted, however, the importance of music to Filipinos as well as the excellent reputation of Filipinos as musicians.

Aquino is himself an audiophile.

In support of the industry, Aquino reminded musicians of what has been done for their welfare.
