MANILA - Senate President Franklin Drilon said House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. promised the lower House will tackle the freedom of information (FOI) bill after it deliberates on the Charter change (Cha-Cha) resolution.

In a radio interview, Drilon said the leadership of both houses of Congress are in constant communication in order to discuss the relevant measures that need to be passed.

Drilon said he also promised Belmonte the Senate will discuss Cha-Cha once the House of Representatives passes the resolution.

Drilon also lauded his colleagues who managed to pass relevant bills amid the numerous investigations, such as on the pork barrel scandal.

He said the Senate will have a lot on its plate once sessions resume.

Among the pending bills are the graphic warnings on cigarette packs and the lowering of income tax rates.
