MANILA - Manila 5th District Rep. Amado Bagatsing warned Technology Resource Center (TRC) Director General on-leave Dennis Cunanan of legal repercussions if he will not issue a public apology to him.

“Cunanan should issue a public apology for making a false accusation and maliciously dragging my name in a scam in which I have no involvement whatsoever,” Bagatsing said in a statement.

He also denied coursing P8 million of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to the TRC, as claimed by Cunanan.

Bagatsing is one of 27 lawmakers that Cunanan named to have funneled their pork barrel to bogus non-government organizations set up by businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.

He said he was not even a member of the House of Representatives beginning 2005 until 2007, when the supposed funneling of funds happened.

“I have always adhered to the highest ethical standards expected of all public officials and worked hard to protect my name from any suspicion of scandal or of wrongdoing,” Bagatsing said.
