MANILA - Malacanang insists on Justice Secretary Leila de Lima’s confirmation by the Commission on Appointments. This, after de Lima has been bypassed several times by the bicameral body.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said de Lima recently resubmitted her requirements to the CA.

She said the confirmation process has not affected de Lima's work as justice secretary.

"We do not see any indication that the delay, at least, has affected her tenacity. So far, she continues to work with the passion, as at least again an observation from someone who gets to work with her on a regular basis. I do recall her saying—hindi pa ho siya naisasalang talaga in the three and a half years. In fact, she has resubmitted requirements recently and kung ma-schedule naman na po siya, ay handa naman po siyang sagutin ‘yung mga itatanong ng mga miyembro ng Commission on Appointments sa kanya," Valte said.

De Lima, along with Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman and Environment Secretary Ramon Paje are among the presidential appointees who have not been given a nod by the CA which is tasked to review presidential appointments.
