Revilla camp: Cunanan one of the 'most guilty'

MANILA - The camp of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla believes Technology Resource Center (TRC) Director General on-leave Dennis Cunanan is one of the most guilty in the pork scam.

In a statement, lawyer Joel Bodegon said Cunanan is a “very good liar.”

“The documents he tries to sell to the public are the same documents that have been forged and falsified. Cunanan’s own admissions that the documents look similar, are the same, and appears to have been prepared by one and the same person, only prove what we have been saying all along that there is a criminal syndicate, to which Benhur Luy and the heads and officials of the implementing agencies, including Dennis Cunanan’s, belong,” he said.

Revilla’s lawyer insists, however, that Cunanan’s testimony is already unraveling.

He noted that Cunanan had initially claimed not knowing businesswoman Janet Napoles. “But now, he says he knows her and has met her a number of times. He even went to her office at the Discovery Suites to get his commission or kickback.”

It was whistleblower Benhur Luy who claimed Cunanan received around P930,000 in kickbacks.

Luy said he placed the money inside a paper bag, which he handed to a certain Evelyn de Leon since Cunanan was in a meeting at that time with Napoles.

No matter how hard the government is trying to weave the story to pin down Revilla, the witnesses themselves are contradicting each other, he said.

“It is clear that Dennis Cunanan, as with the other so called whistleblowers, has no credibility at all. His past reveals his character. He has lied and misrepresented his education attainment, his qualifications, and his properties. He has been so used to lying to get to where he is today. It is no longer a puzzle that he would continue to lie just to get out of his predicament,” Bodegon said.
