MANILA - A Makati regional trial court judge rejected a petition of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles to have doctors of the Philippine National Police to conduct a checkup on her at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Lawyer Faye Singson reiterated that her client is suffering from myoma and loss of appetite and asked the court to grant an immediate request for a doctor from Camp Crame to examine her today.
However, Makati RTC Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda said he cannot grant the request minus the presence or opinion of a medical expert.
Meanwhile, Atty. Patrick Maglinao appeared on behalf of pork scam whistle-blower Benhur Luy as his private lawyer and stated that they will vigorously oppose Napoles' request for checkup at St. Luke's Medical Center.
Alameda has reset the hearing date for Napoles' motion to be examined at St. Luke's Taguig to March 11, 10 a.m. This is after the prosecutors failed to attend the hearing because they are attending a seminar. Report by Raffy Santos, ABS-CBN News
