MANILA – Pork barrel scam witness Ruby Tuason has left the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed Wednesday.
BI spokesperson Maan Pedro said Tuason left the Philippines for Hong Kong at 6 p.m. on March 2 on board Cathay Pacific flight CX 902.
Pedro said Tuason has a return ticket dated April 5, 2014.
Pedro said the Department of Justice (DOJ) is aware of Tuason's departure.
Tuason, who returned to the Philippines last February 7 from the United States, claimed to have personally delivered pork barrel fund kickbacks to Senator Jinggoy Estrada and Gigi Reyes, former chief of staff of Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile.
Meanwhile, Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman TG Guingona said he is not bothered by reports that Tuason has left the country.
Guingona said that Tuason has given enough information to the committee when she appeared during the last hearing.
“Wala na kaming nakikitang information na kailangan sa kanya,” Guingona told reporters. – with reports from Willard Cheng and Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News; and Zandro Ochona, dzMM
