MANILA, Philippines - The big evangelical rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) has been causing traffic jams across the metropolis on Tuesday, affecting even the trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
On day 25 of the Corona impeachment trial, defense lawyer Joel Bodegon said some of his colleagues were stuck in traffic. He asked Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile to make a "second call" minutes after the trial opened at around 2:15 p.m.
The INC had asked for understanding from the public, saying it's not very often that they hold big prayer rallies.
