MANILA - Malacañang opened its doors to children from various orphanages for an afternoon of treats as part of the 27th anniversary celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Dubbed as "Tatak Edsa: Salo-Salubungang Pambata," the program allowed the children to interact with President Aquino at Malacañang's Kalayaan grounds and enjoy activities such as storytelling sessions that aim to impart Filipino values.

In his speech, the President urged the children to do good and speak out against wrongdoing.

Aquino said it is one way to imbibe the lessons of EDSA.

"Nasa kamay na ninyo ang kakayahang gawin ang tama at iwasan ang mali. Umaasa akong magpapakabait kayo at iingatan ninyo ang ipapamana naming malayang pamumuhay," Aquino said.

"Bilang mga responsableng kabataan, alam kong hindi kayo mandaraya sa mga test. Tiwala akong hindi kayo mananahimik na lang kapag may nakita kayong mali. Alam kong tutulungan ninyo ang kapwa ninyong nangangailangan," he added.
