MANILA - A special investigation task group has been formed to investigate how 3 Chinese inmates were taken from the custody of their jail guards in Cavite on Wednesday.

The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group also re-enacted the incident based on the testimonies of the jail guards.

Among the things investigators are trying to figure out is why the jail guards did not ask for police help since they were escorting high-profile prisoners.

The jail guards were also not carrying powerful firearms.

ABS-CBN sources, meantime, tagged the "Ozamis Group" as the gang allegedly behind the escape of the inmates.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is also now on alert for the possible exit of 3 alleged Chinese drug dealers snatched by armed men.

BI Commissioner Ricardo David, Jr. ordered all immigration officers to be on the lookout for Li Tian Hua, Wang Li Na and Li Fan Yan, who were reportedly taken by the armed group in Barangay Lapidalio in Trece Martires.

The three are facing charges for violations of the Dangerous Drugs Act. - with a report from Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News
