PNoy rejects People Power celebration in Malacanang
MANILA - President Aquino disapproved a plan to hold the 28th anniversary celebration of the EDSA People Power revolution in Malacañang.
He announced that he is instead revisiting communities affected by recent calamities, including typhoons “Pablo,” “Yolanda,” and the Central Visayas earthquake.
Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma earlier announced that the EDSA People Power Commission had laid out plans to hold a flag-raising and the traditional "salubungan" at the Malacañang grounds to prevent causing heavy traffic at EDSA.
Aquino expressed his wish to spend the anniversary of EDSA with the calamity victims instead.
