MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay has vowed to continue developing housing programs targeted to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Binay, chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, assured all PMA alumni that the Aquino administration will not only improve the capabilities of the modernized armed forces but also the "morale of our soldiers by providing them not only recognition but also the benefits and assistance that are long overdue."

He said he expects full support from the Department of Budget and Management in giving homes to uniformed personnel and their families.

In his speech, the housing czar also emphasized the need for discipline to achieve national development.

"It is those same questions that would equip us to confront the ever intensifying and more complex issues on our territorial integrity sovereignty, such as the challenge of the West Philippine Sea...and the social issues that come with internal security, or confront us as a people both in the diaspora and at home," Binay added.
