MANILA, Philippines - "Epal" politicians should be wary of "Boy Bawal," the Commission on Elections' (Comelec) new mascot against election campaign violators.
The poll body on Friday published a 2-minute video featuring its poster boy.
In the video, Boy Bawal warns against campaign violations such as such as oversized posters, campaign materials posted in public vehicles, trees and public structures; vote buying, among others.
"Umpisa na ang kampanya, kapag may nakita kayong bawal, pakisumbong niyo sa amin dito sa Comelec," poll body chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. says at the end of the video clip.
The Comelec has sent a request to all broadcast networks to air the "Boy Bawal" ad to educate the public.
The ad can also be viewed at the Comelec's YouTube channel and at the Comelec-EID blog.
The public can report violations on campaign rules by tweeting the @comelec and using the hashtag #sumbongko.
