MANILA - Malacañang justified Tuesday President Aquino's decision to join some of the campaign sorties of the administration's senatorial slate.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the President wants the public to vote into office those who will help push for his agenda.
"This is part of governance. He believes that these are the people who will be able to push forward his reform agenda and we've worked around the agenda. The President will be governing regardless of where he is," Lacierda said.
He also answered allegations that some posters of the Liberal Party violated the guidelines set by the Commission on Elections.
"I think nobody will disagree with me that LP, the Team PNoy, UNA (United Nationalist Alliance) and all other independent candidates will certainly observe Comelec rules. This is just a matter of getting used to the rules on campaigning now that we are officially on campaign season," Lacierda said.
