MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang won't contest the decision made by Pasay Regional Trial Court judge who has allowed former President Gloria Arroyo's continued stay at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) for health reasons.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Judge Jesus Mupas based his decision on opinion from doctors.

"We respect the decision of Judge Mupas for the continued stay of CGMA in the hospital, having relied on the medical opinion of her attending physician and with due accord to her position as a former president," he said in a text message to ABS-CBN News

Mupas, however, directed the Veterans' Memorial Medical Center to produce a monthly bulletin on the medical condition of the former president, as well as the costs incurred by her continued stay and treatment in the hospital.
