MANILA -- Senator Grace Poe, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, said Friday that the Senate should probe the proliferation of pornography in the country.

This came after the Philippines was tagged as "pornography hotspot."

She said the country must neither be a place of pedophiles nor become the center of online prostitution.

Poe is also disturbed over an international report that cybsex and online prostitution has become an industry in the country, victimizing minors and youth from poor families.

The senator said there might be a need to revisit laws, including Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act; Child Pornography Act and Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. -- Report from Ruby Tayag, dzMM
