MANILA, Philippines - Today's hearing on the graft case against former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo over the botched NBN-ZTE deal was postponed at the request of defense lawyers led by Atty. Jose Flaminiano.

The Sandiganbayan Fourth Division granted the request after Flaminiano filed two motions for reconsideration on a court resolution junking their Motions to Quash.

Flaminiano questioned the jurisdiction of Sandiganbayan, saying some of the alleged activities of his clients happened overseas.

"The first question is if there was a crime or not. The second is if it has jurisdiction. Eh sa China daw nangyari eh, so our contention is the court has no jurisdiction," he said.

Present at the hearing was former speaker Jose De Venecia, who was expected to testify against the Arroyos.

The next hearing is set on March 20 and 21.
