Mike Arroyo allowed to go abroad

MANILA - The Sandiganbayan has allowed former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo to leave for abroad following his arraignment on Tuesday.

Mr. Arroyo was arraigned before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, but reiterated his innocence in the alleged fraudulent sale of second-hand choppers to the Philippine National Police worth P104.98 million.

The second division of the anti-graft court granted Arroyo’s request to travel to Japan and Hong Kong between February 3 and February 10.

Arroyo was asked to post a P90,000 bail.

He says he will first travel to Japan to meet overseas Filipinos, and then go to Hong Kong to discuss business plans for the his family's holding company, LTA Inc. – from a report by Ron Gagalac, ABS-CBN News
