MANILA - Cedric Lee has become a trending topic on microblogging site Twitter after he was positively identified as having beaten up actor/comedian Vhong Navarro at a condo unit at The Fort, Taguig City last week.
On Sunday, Navarro said in a tell-all interview on "Buzz ng Bayan" that he was beaten up by six to seven men, including Lee, after the group accused him of attempting to rape a certain Deniece Milet Cornejo.
Navarro said the group threatened to kill him and his family if he failed to pay up to P2 million "in damages" for allegedly attempting to rape Cornejo. The comedian has denied any rape attempt.
An online search for Lee's name has come up with several results including a report on entertainment site Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) that said Lee allegedly beat up triathlete David Bunevacz while they were partners in a cosmetic clinic business.
Jessica Rodriguez, Bunevacz's wife, executed an affidavit in Los Angeles, California, where the Bunevacz family flew after the alleged mauling, narrating her husband's "badly beaten" state after meeting with Lee and their other partners, the pep.ph report said.
PEP narrated Rodriguez's claims that threats were being received by their family from the mobile numbers of Lee and another partner, Tyrone Ong, days after the incident.
Lee and his group denied the allegations before the National Bureau of Investigation.
Bunevacz and Rodriguez were later charged for estafa for alleged misuse of the clinic's funds during their stint as president and marketing director, respectively.
