MANILA - The Palace on Thursday defended Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas's meetings with senator-judges during the trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma sees nothing wrong with the meetings.
"Wala naman akong nakikitang tinalakay doon na labag sa batas o labag sa anumang pamantayan ng ethical behavior in public service," Coloma said.
The Palace dismissed as speculation the reported statement of Rep. Toby Tiangco that the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) was used by the President to counter the alleged pressure from certain sectors to influence the vote on Corona's fate.
"Kailangan tanungin natin siya kung ano ang kanyang kongkretong batayan other than speculation," Coloma said.
