MANILA -- Amid accusations of "gross negligence" by the Energy Regulation Commission (ERC), President Aquino said Thursday that Zenaida Ducut will stay as its chair.
This comes on the heels of Akabayan party-list's formal complaint against Ducut, filed before the Office of the President, for gross neglect of duty.
Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said "due process" must be followed to give Ducut a chance to explain her side on the allegations.
The President, he added, will not ask Ducut to file a leave of absence amid the accusations.
"Meron naman pong itinakdang proseso, kabilang po sa prosesong ito ay 'yung pagtalima sa prinsipyo ng due process, bibigyan po siya ng karapatang sagutin ang mga paratang laban sa kanya," Coloma said. -- Report from Junry Hidalgo, Radyo Patrol 31.
