MANILA - In what sounded like a counter to the privilege speech of Senator Bong Revilla, President Aquino took a swipe at critics during the launching of the Skyway Stage 3 project.

In his speech, Aquino said the project connecting the NLEX and SLEX is proof of the success of his “daang matuwid” or “straight path” platform, which took a beating in Revilla’s privilege speech Monday.

He said that it is not a product of fantasy or a movie and alluded to the “Panday” role famously played by Revilla in the movies.

He also said that the project, expected to be completed by 2017, will provide 6,000 direct and 10 to 12 thousand indirect jobs.

He jested that critics would also have a field day.

Aquino appealed to the public for understanding over the traffic and road inconveniences that the project would cause.
