MANILA - The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division has allowed former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo to leave the country for ten days.

Arroyo, who is facing graft charges, will be off to Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong from January 30 to February 8.

The anti-graft court approved his motion to travel abroad upon the condition that he will stick to his itinerary.

Arroyo is not allowed to go to any other place, and is required to personally appear before the court within five days after his arrival.

The former First Gentleman was charged with graft before the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division for the allegedly anomalous purchase of P104-million police choppers during the term of his wife Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Another graft case against him is pending at the Fourth Division for the scrapped $329-million national broadband network deal.
