NBI zeroes in on Nicole's shooter
MANILA - There are significant developments in the National Bureau of Investigation's (NBI) probe into the death of stray bullet victim Stephanie Nicole Ella, Justice Sec. Leila De Lima said.
Speaking to reporters on Monday morning, De Lima said the NBI has identified Nicole's possible shooter. The NBI was able to secure an eye witness, she added.
"I was asking if I can share that with media na, huwag na muna daw... may tinutukoy na. Kinoconfirm lang," she said.
The NBI conducted its own autopsy on Nicole's remains and the bullet trajectory is also being determined.
The bureau is also monitoring the movements of the suspect to make sure that he is physically present to answer the charges that may be possibly leveled against him.
"Yung tao, dapat dumaan sa proseso," De Lima said.
Seven-year old Nicole sustained a fatal gunshot wound in the head on New Year's eve; she died two days later.
