MANILA, Philippines - The holiday season may be over but some public school teachers have yet to receive their Christmas bonuses in full.
Benjo Basas of the Teachers' Dignity coalition says teachers were supposed to be given P10,000, but many of them have only received P7,000.
He says getting the remaining P3,000 may be difficult as the savings of the education deparment have yet to be released by the budget department.
Meanwhile, Basas' group is also appealing to the Commission on Elections to train teachers for the automated polls this January and not on March since March is usually a busy month for teachers.
This January ang hinihiling namin at least," Basas says. -- report from ANC
