The downpour accompanied with strong winds and hailstones damaged a glass panel of fastfood restaurant Jollibee, injuring at least 8 people.
Most of the injured were children who were at the restaurant’s indoor playground area.
The shards of glass also damaged a vehicle and several motorcycles parked in front of the establishment.
They were brought to the St. Agnes General Hospital.
The bad weather also momentarily stalled a mini-rally by the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) in the area, causing damage to the stage and sound system.
Weather bureau PAGASA said the strong rain in Metro Manila Thursday afternoon was caused by localized thunderstorms. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
