MANILA -- Nokia has began rolling out its much-awaited Lumia Black update in an attempt to keep up with other smartphone competitors like Samsung and Apple.
The Finnish phone maker said the update will bring several new features like an improved Glance screen, Nokia Refocus and the Nokia Beamer for an "even better" Lumia experience.
One notable update is the ability to personalize and organize the phone's start screen with app folders, which allows users to group similar apps and settings into one convenient tile.
Nokia also added improved Bluetooth support to connect the full Windows Phone 8 Lumia range and compatible gadgets like the Adidas MiCoach accessories.
To further establish Lumia as the go-to phone for camera buffs, Lumia Black also combined two of its most popular applications, the Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera, into one simplified photo-taking experience.
Nokia also included the latest generation of imaging algorithm, which would be especially useful to Lumia 1020 users.
Nokia also threw in the brand new Nokia Storyteller, which automatically sorts photos by date and place to "give extra context through close integration of interactive maps."
