MANILA, Philippines – Weeks after he announced his aborted romance with actress Julia Montes, actor Enchong Dee’s most daring magazine cover yet was launched in local newsstands.

Dee, wearing nothing but a pair of striped swim trunks, is the cover boy of Metro’s January 2013 edition, which is also the magazine's much-awaited “The Body Issue.” Dee was photographed by Doc Marlon Pecjo with the shores of Dahican Beach in Davao Oriental in the background.

The actor, who first earned recognition as a competitive swimmer, was groomed by Peps Silvestre.

“Enchong Dee at his hottest and most daring headlines Metro’s 2013 Body Issue! Shot on the lovely shores of Dahican Beach, Mati City, Davao Oriental, the Kapamilya heartthrob shows off a bolder and sexier side of him that no one has seen before,” Metro said on its Facebook page on Thursday.

Also featured in Metro’s January 2013 issue are young stars Joseph Marco, Jessy Mendiola, David Chua and Megan Young, as well as models Sam Adjani, Miko Raval, Mark Lopez and June Macasaet, and entrepreneur Cristalle Belo.

Here, they also “bare not just their bodies, but their true personalities,” Metro said.

In a live interview on “The Buzz” last December 23, Dee said he and Montes became more than friends and were just waiting for the actress to turn 18 before going public about their relationship.

The “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” star, however, said he is sad that the blossoming romance did not end well.

“It’s because of the time. ‘Yung last part ng 2012, ibang klaseng hectic ng schedule,” Dee said in the television interview.
