MANILA -- Acclaimed comedian Russell Peters, who is known for his hilarious impersonation of the Filipino accent, will bring his Almost Famous World Tour to Manila next year.
Peters is expected to feature his famous jokes on jobs, technology and dating among many others at the Kia Theatre in Cubao on February 22.
Known for his ad libs and improvisational style, Peters promises more audience interaction to make each show "unique."
“I like to interact with the front rows,” he said in a statement released on Monday. “I use the interaction to take me from bit to bit. Some guys go on-stage with a script and don’t deviate from it. That’s not my style. I have my set and know what I want to cover; I just use the audience to directions. It’s very collaborative and each show is unique.”
Peters had sold-out performances at the historic Apollo Theater in New York and at Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena, which was hailed as the largest comedy show in the district's history.
In Canada alone, the Almost Famous World Tour has already sold over 150,000 tickets, making Peters the first comedian to pack Toronto’s Air Canada Center six times.
Tickets for the Manila show will go on sale starting on Tuesdauy at 10 a.m. Reservations can be done through ticketnet.com.ph.
