Fiesto Bandido, OPM stars rock MYX MO! 2012

MANILA, Philippines -- Rico Blanco as his alter ego Fiesto Bandido kicked off the year-end concert of the Philippines' No. 1 music channel held last Tuesday.

About 20,000 OPM fans flocked to the Marikina Sports Park to celebrate homegrown talent at the annual MYX MO! concert.

Hosted by MYX VJs Nikki Gil, Chino Lui-Pio, Nikki Gil, K.A. Antonio, Michelle Ng and Michael Marianohis, this year's concert gathered big-name artists from various genres in the Pinoy music scene.

Blanco's opening act was followed by performances from Yeng Constantino, Sponge Cola, Erik Santos, Callalily, Slapshock, Urbandub, 6cyclemind, Young JV, Chicosci and Ebe Dancel.

Filipino rock icons also joined the MYX MO! festivities, including The Dawn, Wolfgang and Ely Buendia.

The former Eraserheads frontman performed with Pupil as well as his new group, The Oktaves.

Top Suzara and Jinky Vidal of the band Freestyle were reunited at the Marikina concert, as they performed the Pinoy karaoke favorite, "Bakit Ngayong Ka Lang."

Callalily frontman Kean Cipriano performs the band's hits before a 20,000-strong crowd at the Marikina Sports Park.

Flip Top and hip-hop stars also took the stage last Tuesday, with Loonie and Abra performing their respective No. 1 MYX charts hits.

OPM stars also shared the limelight with the winner of "MYX MOment," an online search for new talent who gets a chance to perform on the MYX MO! 2012 stage.

Volts Vallejo, 25, got to debut his original song "Ayaw Mo, Ayaw Ko," which he wrote specifically for his "MYX MOment" audition video.

Pinoy music fans can catch the telecast of MYX MO! 2012 on December 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 31 and January 1.
