MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya singer and actress Karylle stressed that she does not feel bad that she was not accepted when she auditioned for the West End revival of the international hit musical “Miss Saigon."

Speaking to “The Buzz” on Sunday, Karylle said that as an actress, she knows that she will not always get accepted for a role.

“As a theater artist, you have to know that it’s part of it. It’s just really sad that the media portrays it as such that it has to be something to be ashamed of,” she said.

Karylle, who just finished the successful run of the pop ballet "Rama Hari," said she has auditioned so many times already and she has learned that a role will come if it is meant for you.

In a previous interview, Karylle said she is thankful for the “Miss Saigon” audition, saying all theater actors have to undergo an audition at some point.

The singer, who is also part of the hit noontime show "It's Showtime", said she felt sad that some talents decided to skip the auditions because of fear.

"How will you know if a part is right for you, if you never even went to the audition process? That's how they do it in other countries. Here, we are not so welcoming of it because 'Ay, hindi ka natanggap. Bakit ganun?' E baka di naman bagay sa iyo, di ba? May dahilan din naman," she said.

Among the most hyped hopefuls eyeing the lead role of Kim in the musical set during the final days of the Vietnam War, only former Kapamilya singer Rachelle Ann Go made it until the very end.
