MANILA, Philippines – Due to popular demand, the Philippine screening of the live action film adaptation of the manga and anime series “Rurouni Kenshin” has been extended, SM Cinema announced Monday.

On Twitter, SM Cinema said a number of branches will screen “Rurouni Kenshin,” more popularly known here as “Samurai X,” until this weekend.

It was supposed to be shown in selected cinemas only until yesterday, December 9.

“Rurouni Kenshin is still in SM Cinema branches nationwide! Catch it today!” SM Cinema tweeted, adding that the updated film schedules are on its website.

Several Filipino Internet users have been using social media sites such as Twitter to rave about the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movie, which premiered in the Philippines last December 5.

Screened in Japan last August, the movie tells the story of Kenshin Himura (Himura Kenshin in Japan; the Japanese say the surname first), an assassin who became a repentant wanderer.
