MANILA – Miss World 2013 Megan Young shared in a television interview her next destinations following her short visit to the Philippines to help survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan).
In a taped interview on the ABS-CBN morning talk show “Kris TV” aired on Monday, Young said she is set to visit Fiji, New Zealand, Australia and parts of Asia, South America and Africa to fulfill her duties as reigning Miss World.
Young has so far visited Indonesia, where the pageant was held; United Kingdom, the Miss World Organization’s headquarters; the United States for a series of fundraisers; as well as Hong Kong and Haiti, where she figured in an accident.
“We’ll go to China for a big fundraising event, and then we also go to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and India. Then we also have Russia, then in the US, we will be going in January. And then in February or March, we’re going to Colombia… Then Argentina and Peru,” Young said in the interview with “Kris TV” host Kris Aquino.
“After all those traveling, I think I’m also going to Brazil. And to London, of course,” she added.
Of all the places she is set to visit as Miss World, Young is particularly excited for Africa, saying it has always been her dream to go there.
“I’m very excited for that… Actually, pinaka-excited ako for Africa kasi it’s always been a dream of mine, actually, to go there and to see the culture,” she said.
Young, the Philippines’ first ever Miss World titlist, is set to visit over 40 countries for charity work as part of her reign.
Despite her busy schedule, Young said she will return home to her family this Christmas.
“Uuwi ako ng Pasko… Meron lang kaming konting trabaho pa, siyempre inaayos pa namin ‘yung sa typhoon Haiyan, but at the same time I do get to spend time with my family,” she said.
