Karylle makes it to 'Miss Saigon' call backs

MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya star Karylle has made it to the call backs at the start of auditions for the West End revival of the international hit musical “Miss Saigon” on Monday in Makati City.

Talent manager Carlo Orosa posted a picture of Karylle holding her call-back slip on Facebook with the caption “We made it.”

Orosa’s other talent, Star Magic singer-actress Tippy dos Santos, also received a call-back slip. “Proud manager… congrats Tippy,” Orosa said in his post, which also includes a photo of a happy dos Santos.

According to Orosa, other talents who made it to the call-backs on Monday include Manila-born Singaporean singer-actress Julia Abueva and veteran theater actor Jake Macapagal.

The much-awaited Manila auditions for the “Miss Saigon” revival started on Monday and continues until Thursday, November 22 at the Philippine Opera Company’s headquarters in Makati.

According to the website BroadwayWorld.com, seen during the “Miss Saigon” registration over the weekend were theater actors Kyla Rivera, Caisa Borromeo, James Stacey, Topper Fabregas, OJ Mariano, Yanah Laurel, Sitti Navarro and Josh Ramirez.
