"Sana po, kung may tutulong, yes po," June Macasaet told reporters shortly after his arrival in the Philippines on Thursday, when asked if he wants to become an actor.
"Dapat po flexible eh, comedy and then drama siguro [ang gusto gawin]. Masayahing tao po ako, hindi naman po ako mahiyain," he added.
Macasaet, 28, bested 52 other international contestants at the 2012 Manhunt International pageant night held in Bangkok, Thailand last week. Before his first international stint, the Filipino commercial and ramp model finished 1st runner-up at this year's local Century Tuna Superbods competition.
"Proud at masaya, dahil nakapag-reperesent po ako ng bansa," Macasaet said of winning the 16th edition of the male beauty pageant.
"Hindi ko inaasahan. Pagpunta ko doon, nagdasal lang ako, sana, sana manalo tayo, dahil masyadong mabigat yung nakapatong sakin, dahil Pilipinas 'yung dinadala ko," he added.
A native of San Jose, Batangas, Macasaet finished his studies at Centro Escolar University in Manila. Now set for an international modeling career when he flies to Singapore early next year, the 6'1"-tall model expressed his gratitude to Filipinos who rallied behind him during his bid in Manhunt International.
"Sa mga Pilipino, maraming salamat sa nagdasal, sa mga sumuporta, thank you rin sa mga palaging gumagabay sa 'kin. Palagi tayong magdasal," Macasaet said.
