MANILA, Philippines -- The two daughters of actress and former beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez launched Thursday their first fashion collection in time for the Holiday season.

Dubbed the "Love Collection," the outfits were designed by Lorin, 9, and Venice, 8, in collaboration with renowned Filipino fashion designer Rajo Laurel.
In a press conference held Thursday, Gutierrez said the Love Collection was inspired by the personalities of the closest friends of her two daughters with Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas.
During the event, Lorin and Venice took turns in modeling an outfit each from their respective designs. Composed of 10 outfits in total, the Love Collection has 5 outfits designed by Lorin, and another 5 designed by Venice.
Showing off the "Louise" outfit, Venice candidly shared the crystal-embellished purple dress came to form from her "favorite things."
"I want my dress to be sleeveless, and I want it to have a lot of crystals, and I like color purple, and pink crystals, these are my favortie colors, and it's nice," Venice said.
Referring to her friend named Louise, her classmate since pre-school, Venice added, "I made it nice, kasi si Louise, maganda 'yung attitude niya."
Other outfits designed by Venice include "Iya," "Isabella" and "Trixie."
Wearing an bright orange dress called "Anikka," Lorin, meanwhile, pointed to the taste in fashion of girls her age.
"Gusto ko maging fun 'yung mga design ko, kasi 'yung mga bata, ayaw nila 'yung mga black and grey na clothing, so gusto ko maraming kulay, parang 'yung light blue, green, purple, at pink," said Lorin, whose other designs are called "Martha," "Mariella," "Elise" and "Yasmin."
'Starting them young'
Explaining her children's early business venture, Gutierrez said it is her way of imparting the value of independence in Lorin and Venice. The actress-host also said her daughters' interest in fashion was also ideal to start a business.
"I want to start them off really young, para pagdating ng araw, they'll be like their mom, na kahit solo sa buhay, nagtatrabaho para sa mga sarili nila," she said.
"Gusto ko at this age, maranasan na nila kung paano mag-ipon ng pera, kung paano nagtatrabaho ang mommy nila para sa kanila, so I want them to learn these things at a young age," Gutierrez added.
Set for its retail launch this Saturday at the House of Laurel botique in Makati City, the collection, according to Gutierrez, only has 250 unique pieces available for sale.
With pieces from Love Collection already available for pre-order, Gutierrez anticipates they will be sold out soon. As such, she said they are now planning to release a follow-up collection in time for Valentine's Day.
