MANILA, Philippines – After Malaysia and Singapore, Nike’s “We Run” 10K race is set to return to Manila this December.
About 13,000 runners are expected to hit the streets of Pasay City on December 2 for the event dubbed as “We Run Manila,” which is now on its second year in the country, according to a statement released by Nike.
The race will start at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds and will pass by Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pacific Avenue and Seaside Boulevard.
“Nike’s We Run race is the celebration of running across the world, the culmination of every runner’s dedication and commitment to train harder, defy expectations and push their bodies’ limits,” said Sanjay Gangopadhyay, marketing director of Nike Southeast Asia.
“With the second edition of the We Run race in Manila, Nike envisions Filipinos, the youth in particular, to further move the local running scene forward by leading the active lifestyle movement,” Gangopadhyay added.
Nike said it will organize training sessions focusing on proper running techniques and tips to prepare its participants for the “We Run Manila” race.
This year’s “We Run” event is expected to attract 395,500 runners from 34 cities around the world.
After Manila, the race will be held in Guadalajara in Mexico, before making its next stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
