MANILA, Philippines – Making the most out of his successful career in neighboring countries, balladeer Christian Bautista is set to fly to Indonesia to promote his newest album.
In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com during the Windows 8 Asia Pacific launch in Singapore last week, Bautista said he will visit Indonesia sometime this month.
“I’m gonna be back in Indonesia this November kasi I just finished my promotion of my album ‘First Class’ in the Philippines. So now, dadalhin ko naman sa Indonesia,” said Bautista, who is one of the Southeast Asian celebrity ambassadors of Microsoft.
Bautista, who is busy rehearsing for the upcoming revival of the musical “Rama Hari” with singer-actress Karylle, said he would like to focus on building his career in Southeast Asia.
Aside from Indonesia, he is also popular among fans in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
“Right now, I’d rather stay in the Asia Pacific region,” said Bautista, who admitted that he is not yet ready to audition for the revival of “Miss Saigon,” which entails leaving the Philippines for a long time.
Bautista rose to fame after his runner-up finish in the defunct singing contest “Star in a Million.” He recently marked his 10th year in the local entertainment industry by holding a concert billed as “X Class.”
“I just finished my 10th-year concert. It was called ‘X Class.’ We did five shows in Meralco Theater. It was very, very successful,” he happily shared.
Bautista is currently in a relationship with Singaporean Carla Dunareanu, his co-star in the pan-Asian series “The Kitchen Musical.”
