Pinoy artists team up to help typhoon victims

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 47 national and contemporary Filipino artists have teamed up to help families who were affected by recent typhoons "Pedring" and "Quiel."

The Formafuego Artist Space, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), will hold a fundraising event on October 29 at the Ayala Museum in Makati City.

Dubbed "Disruptions in Red," the event will feature masterpieces by National Artists Napoleon Abueva, Arturo Luz and Abdulmari Asia Imao as well as works by contemporary artists Ramon Orlina, Juvenal Sanso, Araceli Dans, Romulo Olazo, Betsy Westendorp, Angel Cacnio, among many others.

Guests and donors who will donate to the Red Cross for typhoon-affected families during the event will receive one work of art each in appreciation of their generosity, PRC said in a statement released Monday.
